• Cooling/HVAC- Liebert HVAC units within the facility are served from the buildings central plant consisting of three 1,000 ton and two 500 ton centrifugal chillers, each with two pumps for redundancy. One 1,000 ton chiller can cool the entire building on a 90-degree day, providing four chillers for additional redundancy.
• Power - The facility is served by a preferred service grid of the Los Angeles DWP that only provides service to one other building. The facility is also served by a second power grid for redundancy. AC power to the PDU's within the colocation area is fed from the UPS system. Currently there are four 1,100 KW emergency generators supplied by 90,000 gallons of diesel fuel. At current load, the fuel will power these generators for approximately 30 days without re-fueling. These generators alone could power a city of 20,000 people.
• UPS Systems - Provided by 5 - 560KVA Emerson UPS systems with 12 hours of battery back up. All equipment within the colocation area can be run on this battery power until the four diesel generators begin to operate which takes from 5-7 seconds.
• Seismic Features - In an 8.3 earthquake the raised floors system was engineered to move just 3/4 of an inch.
