Link Directory WordPress Plugin

Important Usage Notes
- Shortcode Placement: Currently, the plugin shortcode must be deployed inside a WordPress Page. (WordPress Posts will only display the directory correctly if you are using Default/Plain permalinks).
- Direct Link Submission: To add or approve links in a category, navigate to the front-end page where your directory is loaded. Management dashboard options are currently in development for future releases.
Step-by-Step Configuration
Configure options, manage blacklists, and design categories directly from WordPress.
General Plugin Options
After installation and activation, a new menu item labeled LinkDir Options will appear on your WordPress dashboard right after the Settings tab.
Inside this menu, you can configure critical options: toggle linkback requirements, choose whether to display the count of active links inside every category, customize lookback scripts, and set up Google ReCAPTCHA to protect your portal from automated web bots.
Spam Prevention & Blacklists
Take total control of your directory's data quality. Use the built-in Blacklists settings to restrict specific IP addresses from making new submissions, and block specific domain names or keywords that you don't want to accept into your directory.
Link & Category Management
The Links tab lets you easily query, edit, or remove previously added directories.
Inside the Categories tab, you can view your directory structure and add new categories instantly. Simply input the Category Name and a short description, and it will be updated dynamically on the frontend.
Deploying the Shortcode
To display the directory on your website, create a new Page (e.g. Pages $
ightarrow$ Add New) and insert the following shortcode anywhere you want it to appear:
Save the page, click View Page, and your fully-functional directory with category grids will render immediately.
Frontend User Submission
On the public-facing directory page, your site visitors will see the categories and a clear navigation panel containing three options:
- Home: Reset filters and return to category grids.
- Add URL: Allows visitors to submit their Title, URL, and Description to be matching inside your category.
- Link Back to Us: Generates code blocks for reciprocal links, ensuring visitors give you link juice in exchange for their directory listings.
